Commentary on the Toponym:

[Kommentar (BH):
Welser und Scheyb lesen "Cahi"]

Kommentar (Talbert):
The third letter is so heavily inked that it becomes hard to identify, but from personal inspection of the parchment (March 2003) I believe it to be "n", not "h" as read by Miller.

If Cani is correctly identified with Chalcis (as seems likely), then this is the city´´s second appearance on the map; see Calcida on the route immediately above.

Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 822:
Cahi (Irrig Cabi (Ve)), Calhi (Ra), identisch mit Calcida, Strecke 111, verschrieben aus Calci; j. Kinnesrin oder Alt-Aleppo.
20.

Datierung (Barrington):
Chalcis ad Belum - Hellenistic/Roman/Late Antique (Mouterde 1945, 4-9; Fourdrin, 1994)
§ Chalkidike - Hellenistic/Roman Antique (Honigmann I.135)
§ Chalcidena
