Iskaluna, Stadt der Philister; befestigte Seestadt (Philo Legat. ad Caium) ohne Hafen (Abulf. p. 27) in einer fruchtbaren Gegend; sehr alt, nicht unbedeutend (nach St zwar klein, nach Ml wie Gaza), Anlage der Tyrier (Scyl), Sitz des Dagonkultes (Diod); Heiligtum der Aphrodite (Hd); berühmt durch Zwiebeln (Ascaloniae cepae) und Weinbau; j.
