Commentary on the Toponym:	Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 547 f.: [14.] Ad aqvas,_ - Aquas (Bg, Ve), Aquas (Ra), Ὕδατα (Pt), pagus Aquensis (I: CIL III 1407 - gefunden in Kis-Kalán); j. (Station Zeykfalva) Kis-Kalán im Streltal, letztes großes Dorf, hat Hüttenwerke, ein kleines warmes Bad, eine alte Kirche, angeblich römischen Ursprungs. Thermen und Überreste römischer Badeanstalten. Iss: CIL III 1403-1414. 7890-7895. 8065ˇ32. 13. Kommentar (RE): https://elexikon.ch/RE/II,1_293.png 2) ad Aquas, hervorragende Station in der trajanischen Provinz Dacia auf der Strasse von Sarmizegetusa nach Apulum, Tab. Peut. m. p. XII Sarmategte, einfach Aquas genannt bei dem Geogr. Rav. IV 7; Ὕδατα bei Ptol. III 8, 4. Der Ort heisst jetzt Kis-Kalán und besitzt besuchte Warmbäder; hier wurden Inschriften gefunden, CIL III 1403–1414, besonders wichtig 1407: I. O. M. pro salute dominorum nostrorum C. Iulius Marcianus decurio coloniae, praefectus pagi Aquensis, genio eorum posuit; der Ort war demnach ein pagus von Sarmizegetusa. In der Tab. Peut. muss die Entfernungszahl m. p. XXIV lauten.
