The copyist made the chicane for this stretch too early; it should occur after the distance figure XII for the previous (Lamnia) stretch, not before it.

Joppe (Irrig Poppe (Ve)), it. (Ra, Gu), Joppis (Ra), Ἱóππη (St, I Macc, Acta app, Zos, Pt, Pl, Ml), Ἱóπη (Dion, Steph, Jos, Sol), im AT Japho; eine sehr alte See- und Hafenstadt, vor Anlegung des Hafens von Caesarea eigentlich der einzige, aber nicht ganz sichere Hafen Judäas, von St der Hafen Jerusalems genannt, welches von hier aus gesehen werden könne; vor der römischen Herrschaft Sitz von Seeräubern, von Vespesian deshalb geschleift und eine Festung an deren Stelle erbaut (Jos); lag am südlichen Ende der blumenreichen Ebene Saron.
