Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 810: Appolloniade, Apolonia und Apollonia (Ra), Appollonia (Gu), Apollonia – Ἀπολλωνία (Jos, Pt, Pl, Steph), nach Appian. Syr. c. 57 von Seleucus gegründet; kleine See- und Hafenstadt, in der Mitte zwischen Caesarea und Joppe; j. Arsuf; war zur Zeit der Kreuzfahrer noch befestigt und hieß Assur. – [12]. Kommentar (RE): 25) In Palaestina (Steph. Byz. nr. 13. Joseph. Antiq. XIII 395; bell. Iud. I 8, 4. Plin. n. h. V 69. Ptolem. V 16, 2. Tab. Peut. Geogr. Rav. 83. 356), an der Küste zwischen Joppe und Caesarea, 22 Millien von letzterem gelegen. Nach Appian. Syr. 57 scheint A. von Seleukos gegründet, bezw. so benannt zu sein.
