Commentary on the Toponym:

Kommentar (Talbert):
-> Stretch to Cesaria
Above the distance figure XXXI following the name is placed III (written smaller), which is presumably to be taken as a continuation of the figure (as ItMiller 832 also believes). III was placed above because continuation of XXXI on the same level would clash with the next distance figure to the right.
-> Stretch to Herichonte
The linework for this stretch is not marked.
The linework is missing, but a distance figure remains ready to be bisected by it (XX to the left, XII to the right). No similar gap is left in the name Herichonte.

Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 833:
Neapoli, it. (It), Neapolis (Ra), Νεαπολις (Jos, Pt, Pl, Proc, Euseb), hieß nach Jos und Pl Mabortha oder Mamortha; ohne Zweifel das Sichem des AT, aber nicht Sychar (Joh, Acta Ap), Sikima (Jos); in dem schmalen Tale zwischen den Bergen Ebal und Garizim, ein Hauptsitz der Samaritan. Gottesverehrung, frühzeitig eine christliche Gemeinde; j. Nâbulus.
20, bis Aelia 30 (It); Hi: bis Villa Bethar 28, j. Betin bei Ramallah; von da nach Hierusalem 12.

Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 834:
Neapoli, Strecke 121.
32 (Fehlt bei Sch, Pd, Kt; der Verbindungsstrich fehlt bei allen.)

Datierung (Barrington):
Neapolis - Archaic/Hellenistic/Roman/Late Antique (TIR Iudaea 194-95).
