Burd. 610,10), Foro novo, qui confinatur cum territorio super scripte civitatis Beneventane (Geogr. Rav. p. 72.44). d) Datierung der Namensform auf der TP Der Ort ist frühestens im Itinerarium Burdigalense belegt, sein Eintrag auf der Karte damit spätestens spätantik zu datieren. e) Bedeutung des Toponyms in der Antike Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 372f.: Foro novo, it. (Ra), Forno novo (Hi); j. Montemale oder S. Arcangelo Trimonti. Iss: 6357. 6358, ferner die Iss von Ariano und Umgebung, s.o. 12, it. (Hi); es sind ca. 8. Bei Buonalbergo 1 Meilenstein mit Entfernung 13, bei Casalbore ein solcher mit Entfernung 16 von Benevent gefunden (CIL IX 6008. 6009). RE: Forum Novum [3] 3) Im Hirpinerland (2. Region), 10 Millien (Itin. Hieros. 610. Tab. Peut. Geogr. Rav. IV 34) von Beneventum nordöstlich an der diese Stadt mit Brundisium verbindenden Via Traiana. Zu suchen bei Montemale. Vgl. CIL IX p. 122. 593. Nissen Ital. Landesk. II 816. [Weiss]. f) wenn vorhanden: Kommentar zur Vignette - g) Kommentar zur Einzeichnung auf der TP (Gestaltungsfehler/Folgefehler?) PK: Verbindung nach Canusio wurde aufgrund fehlender Meilenangabe und mit Blick auf den Barrington Atlas gestrichen. Kommentar (Talbert): With ItMiller 372 (compare BAtlas 45 A2-D2), there is good reason to think that the link drawn between Foro novo and unnamed symbol #42 is a mistake. Possibly it was made by the mapmaker, but a copyist`s addition seems more likely. If the Foro novo stretch was originally a horizontal deadend (like Statvle in 5B2) with linework extending down from it, it could easily be linked - by accident or design - up to unnamed symbol #42 also. h) Hinweise zum Streckennetz und den Distanzangaben Im Itinerarium Burdigalense (ed. Cuntz) wird der Ort als mutatio vicus Forno Novo (610,10) aufgeführt. Die Distanz zur vorherigen mansio Ad Aequum Magnum beträgt XII Meilen, zur nachfolgenden civitas Benevento X Meilen. Damit stimmt sie mit der Distanz der TP von 10 Meilen von Foro Novo bis Benebento überein.
